Jeffrey Everett started El Jefe Design in 2003 while receiving his MFA in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Now located outside of Washington, DC, El Jefe Design has had the pleasure of design and illustrating for a wide variety of entertainment and non-profit clients such as Dreamworks, The Fred Rogers Center, The Renewable Fuels Association, and The Girl Scouts of the USA.

The studio is most known for creating award-winning posters for music acts such as The Foo Fighters, The Decemberists, Wilco, Wolf Parade, Band of Horses, and The Detroit Cobras. The sensibility is proudly distinct; using inside jokes, sarcasm, fringe culture iconography, in contrast to overwhelming homogenization and conservatism that characterize committee-created corporate products which is only cool if you can poke fun of it.

Because of this, El Jefe Design has had work shown in magazines such as Print, How, and Step Inside Design, featured in gallery exhibits, shown on the Communication Arts website, and won multiple awards from the AIGA and The Art Directors Club.
